Museo Coltello Sardo

RocceBiancheArbus_Coltello02

The Sardinian knife Museum in Arbus is divided into four rooms. In the first, there is an exhibition of ancient knives, including some from the XVI century. In the second, the most significant works of contemporary Sardinian cutlers are exhibited.

In the third, you can see the best products of the “Coltelleria l’Arburesa”. Informative films explain the different stages and techniques of the working knives and include interviews with the cutlers working in different areas of Sardinia.

The final room is a reconstruction of an old blacksmiths forge (su ferreri) with an exhibition of tools dating back to the last century. There are also two sculptures and a mural of Sardinian artists. You can also admire the knives designated as the biggest in the world by the Guinness Book of Records in 1986 (weighing 80 kg and measuring 3,35 m in length)

Opening hours: Monday to Friday: 9:00 – 12:00 – 16:00 – 20:00 Saturday morning: 9:00 – 12:00 Saturday afternoon and Sunday: only upon request.
